D50 DETECTOR
Technical description
The D50 detector is an electronic railway signalling pedal used to detect the passage of trains by detecting the wheels on the track. It transmits negative information to signal a passage (e.g. announcing a train at a level crossing) and positive information to destroy a route or cancel an announcement. The device is weatherproof and recommended for use in snowy areas.
Variations
The D50 is part of a family that includes the D39 and D50 detectors, which are combined with the BJ39 and BJ50 junction boxes to form a complete electronic detection system.
Applications
Level crossings, transit interlocking, route destruction, points in marshalling yards, axle counting and signal management. It also serves as a backup for track circuits when precise, timely information is required.
